Project Description
Fleet Remote is a predictive maintenance platform that aims to predict performance and safety problems for trailers and to optimize maintenance work for trailers. This saves a lot of costs (eg driver, truck, fuel, inspector, etc.), prevents downtime and increases safety. But of course, there is much more possible with the data. Safety relevant information about the trailer is displayed in real-time to the driver using a smartphone or tablet. As a result, problems are detected earlier and breakdowns can be avoided. Furthermore, a wide range of trailer functions can be controlled remotely, independent of the truck/trailer combination. All operational data leading up to and during an incident are stored, including any shocks, harsh brake applications and rollovers. By providing a detailed picture of the information surrounding any incident, Fleet Remote can help you to prevent and reclaim costs resulting from any such incidents. The software analyses and monitors all brake applications and resulting changes in acceleration. Any partial failures or brake deficiencies that affect brake performance, such as glazing, or fading can be predicted or detected.

Project Struggles
This device can be used only in heavy vehicles with trailers attached to it which might be considered as an disadvantage or limitation.

Project Objectives
The main objective is predicting the brake deceleration of a trailer, also known as Electronic Brake Performance Monitoring (EBPMS).
Project Status
It is implemented and is functional. This technology is used in trucks and other heavy vehicles that need constant monitoring of trailers. (Netherlands)
